Description

Delicious stuffed mushrooms filled with a savory mixture of breadcrumbs, cheese, and herbs, perfect as an appetizer for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 16 large mushroom caps
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (e.g., Parmesan or mozzarella)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs (e.g., parsley, thyme)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Clean the mushroom caps and remove the stems gently.
  3. In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs, cheese, garlic, herbs, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  4. Stuff the mixture generously into each mushroom cap, pressing lightly to ensure the filling sticks.
  5. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden and crispy.

Notes

For an extra flavor kick, consider adding crushed red pepper flakes to the stuffing. Use day-old bread for your breadcrumbs for a more robust texture. If you want to make them vegetarian, skip the cheese or substitute with a vegan alternative.
