A delightful fusion of Nordic flavors and classic burger essence featuring a unique berry mayo spread.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup lingonberry jam
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 ounces shaved reindeer meat
- 8 slices turkey bacon
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices mild melting cheese
- 1 cup fresh arugula
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 to 2 tablespoons oil or butter for cooking
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine lingonberry jam and mayonnaise. Stir until smooth and well blended; set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef with shaved reindeer meat; form into four equal patties and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook burger patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Add cheese on top to melt during the last minute.
- Meanwhile, cook turkey bacon in a separate pan until crispy and toast the hamburger buns in butter or oil until golden brown.
- Assemble burgers by spreading berry mayo on each toasted bun, layering with arugula, melted cheese patty, and crispy turkey bacon. Serve immediately.
Notes
For a lighter option, ground turkey or chicken can be used instead of beef, and for a vegetarian option, grilled portobello mushrooms could replace the patties.
