Ingredients
- 8 ounces bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream (or full-fat coconut cream for dairy-free)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans or walnuts
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries or cherries
- 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes (seasonal, optional)
- 1 tablespoon natural powdered sugar or coconut sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Chop the chocolate finely and place in a heat-safe bowl.
- Heat the cream in a saucepan until it simmers, about 3-4 minutes.
- Pour hot cream over chocolate and let sit for 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in unsalted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Toast chopped nuts in a dry pan over medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
- Assemble ganache in serving dishes and sprinkle with toppings. Chill for at least 1 hour to set.
