Description

A rich, silky chocolate ganache topped with festive ingredients for a luscious dessert experience.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or full-fat coconut cream for dairy-free)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans or walnuts
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries or cherries
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes (seasonal, optional)
  • 1 tablespoon natural powdered sugar or coconut sugar (optional)


Instructions

  1. Chop the chocolate finely and place in a heat-safe bowl.
  2. Heat the cream in a saucepan until it simmers, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Pour hot cream over chocolate and let sit for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in unsalted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  5. Toast chopped nuts in a dry pan over medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Assemble ganache in serving dishes and sprinkle with toppings. Chill for at least 1 hour to set.

Notes

Can be made up to 3 days in advance. Add toppings just before serving.
